Albariza is the Spanish local name for the piercing white chalky limestone soils in Southwestern Spain where sherry is made. It is also found in some of the best wine regions in the world***! For me, the name Albariza represents my excitement; to give you easy access to some really interesting as well as awesomely classic wines from all over. I seek out wineries that are small production, farming with respect, most likely organic and/or bio-dynamically certified, and make wines with a more hands-on approach, with little to no additives (a little sulfur is alright in my book).

***some of the best wine growing regions of the world that have this soil type include: Champagne, Chablis, Sancerre, Jura, Rhone, Tuscany, Sardinia, Veneto, Mendoza, & Paso Robles!
